MS - Dos

MS-DOS is a computer operating system by Microsoft Corporation. It stands for "Microsoft Disk Operating System", and came from an operating system Microsoft bought called QDOS, or the "Quick and Dirty Operating System." It was popularly used in PCs before an operating system called Microsoft Windows came out and still is in some places today

MS - Window

Microsoft Windows, or simply Windows, is a metafamily of graphical operating systems developed, marketed, and sold by Microsoft. It consists of several families of operating systems, each of which cater to a certain sector of the computing industry with the OS typically associated with IBM PC compatible architecture. Active Windows families include Windows NT and Windows Embedded; these may encompass subfamilies, e.g. Windows Embedded Compact (Windows CE) or Windows Server. Defunct Windows families include Windows 9x, Windows Mobile and Windows Phone.

Word Processor / Word

A Word or Word Processor is a application software that assists you to write, edit and manipulate text. Microsoft Word 2013 and all version of it are mainly used in offices to type and design letters, reports, product brochures etc. Modern Word 2013 provide tools not only to type, process and print text, but also provide tools to draw or import pictures and graphics to make the document more attractive and communicative. Modern Microsoft Word Application or Word Processors have also their own dictionary that facilitates you to check your document for spelling and grammatical errors.

Excel or Spreadsheet and its Business Application

Ms Excel or Microsoft Excel, Spreadsheet is an application software which comes with all the versions of MS-office. Ms Excel is the electronic equivalent of the ledger sheet of accountants, bankers and financial officers. The Ms Excel sheet is called electronic spread sheet. An electronic sheet is a grid of vertical and horizontal lines in which you can enter your data and perform calculations on it and depicts your data in the graphical form very easily. The first spreadsheet available for PC was visicalc, which provided a new way, to accountants, bankers and financial managers to perform their accounting and Financial tasks. Finally , Microsoft Excel was introduced which become very popular. Others popularly used spreadsheet software are Quattro-Pro, VP-Planner Plus, Multiplan, and SuperCalc.

PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is a commercial presentation application written and distributed by Microsoft for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. The current versions at the time of writing this tutorial are 2013 for Microsoft Windows and 2013 for Mac OS X. Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation tool that supports text, shapes, graphics, pictures and multimedia along with integration with other Microsoft Office products like Excel. By default, documents saved in PowerPoint 2013 are saved with the .pptx extension whereas, the file extension of the prior PowerPoint versions is .ppt.
